This is NOT your traditional "aerobics" class. Cardiovascular training, cardio and resistance training combined (circuit training), or solely resistance training - add what's missing from your fitness regimen or make this your workout base.
The cardio component is kick boxing
based, combining the energy and motivation
of an aerobics class with the powerful, stress
relieving techniques of the martial arts. We also
include athletic & plyometric drills and traditional
aerobics to improve cardiovascular fitness and expend
calories as part of a weight maintenance goal. Resistance
training with dumbbells, resistance bands, and body weight
exercises improves muscular strength and endurance. This
incorporates the benefits of 1) maintaining or increasing lean muscle
mass which improves the resting metabolic rate helping to prevent weight gain that occurs with age and 2) maintaining or increasing bone density reducing the chance of osteoporosis.
